Areeb Siddiqui
Areeb is a Eugene McDermott Scholar and Bill Archer Fellow majoring in political science and economics at The University of Texas at Dallas. He is passionate about combating urban segregation through affordable housing practices and promoting fair lending policies. Areeb has conducted research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and The Brookings Institution on economic policies that would create a more inclusive economy such as the Community Reinvestment Act and a proposed national jobs guarantee. On campus, he has served as the secretary of Student Government and the president of No Labels, where he planned events hosting local and national political candidates, and competes on UT Dallas’s Mediation and Moot Court teams. Areeb hopes to earn a JD and Master of Urban Planning to form a career as a trial attorney litigating cases of housing and lending discrimination and advocating federal agencies and local municipalities to better enforce fair lending and inclusive housing practices.
