Sonya Calico

Sonya Calico was sent to solitary confinement in a men’s jail in Texas, supposedly for her own protection. Her story helped inspire change for other trans people facing incarceration in Dallas. Sonya's story is one of thirteen in Voice of Witness' latest oral history book, Six By Ten: Stories from Solitary.
