Peggy Taylor Larney has over thirty years of experiences in community service, arts & education, advocacy and mentoring.  She is a civic leader, marketing professional, and small business owner.

She is an originator of a state bill designating last Friday in September as American Indian Heritage Day in Texas, is a founder of two non-profit organizations --American Indian Heritage Day in Texas and Indian Citizens against Racial Exploitation and is a well-known cultural educator as well as a cultural presenter.

She works to continue making the American Indian community safe and be a place that nurtures and helps families live and thrive.

Ms. Larney is a retired Dallas ISD of the American Indian Education Program.  Few accomplishments during her tenure included eliminating ten schools with American Indian names and mascots, increasing American Indian students high school graduation rate, and increasing higher education entrance rate.  She serves as an American Indian education consultant to organizations, business, and higher education.

Peggy Larney is a well respected tribal elder.
